A Musical Journey on the Wings of Sound by Shelley Snow *
8:00 PM EST
Suggested Donation: $20
This unique concert will take listeners on a musical journey to sacred sites where a language of sound that Shelley Snow sings in was birthed, and through which she experienced inter-species communication in Hawaii with sea turtles.
She will sing songs in this original sound language from her album Shamaneya as well as more recent songs from an upcoming album. A special section devoted to Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati will consist of meditative flute music that he so loved to hear when he was present in physical form in the Ashram.
Stephen Snow will be a guest artist singing a duet with Shelley and a song he has written. Eric Mongerson will provide visuals and lighting design.
Shelley Snow is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and composer whose vocal album in an original sound language titled Shamaneya was hailed by Billboard Magazine as a truly original creation. Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s Shelley played the flute for meditations led by Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati at the Ashram. Guruji loved the sounds emanating from Shelley's flute. He often referenced Krishna, and spoke of these sounds as "Nadam". She also often performed for large events with electric zither player Laraaji, and with Sitarist Roop Verma for the Ramayana dance drama productions. Her album Flute Silk is deeply meditative, consisting of original solo silver flute pieces she composed.
