Parent & Child Day at Ananda Ashram: Yoga, Mindfulness and Nature

1:30 PM - 4:30 PM
$35 (+$15 for each additional sibling)
Our recurring children's program introduces age-appropriate aspects of yogic lifestyle: music, art, dance, yama/niyama (principles of good living), karma yoga (selfless service), care for the body and mind (breathing, deep relaxation and mindfulness exercises to manage anxiety), and simple introduction to yoga philosophy (Sanskrit language and chanting of verses).
Planned activities for November 16 include:
Weather permitting, we’ll enjoy a guided walk in the woods with nature identification, and a cozy campfire with vegan s’mores.
In case of rain, we’ll move indoors for collective crafts and a hands-on tea-making activity with herbalist Isabel Arrieche.
Either program will include kid-friendly yoga and mantra chanting, which set the theme for our time together.
The program is hosted by inspired mothers and teachers of the Ananda Ashram community. We aim to plant the seeds of self-confidence, self-inquiry, self-expression, mindfulness, and to foster ethical relationships with others, rooted in the Ashram Yogic tradition.
