A monthly class series offering study of the Sitar and other string instruments in authentic oral tradition under a master teacher and performer. For beginning and intermediate students. Instruction in voice is also included.
Acharya Roop Verma shares a unique and concise system of musical training. His experience comes from observation of how we learn things. He has simplified the process for this age of technology, where less time is available, by re-arranging essential features and filtering out non-vital elements that are irrelevant to the learning experience. Students will receive an introduction to the Indian musical system of notes and to simple music-making techniques.
Note: Students are encouraged to come together for a group practice session on Saturday, 3:00-5:00PM.
