Many Sufi traditions have described this world as a prison with open doors, with spiritual liberation being available to those willing to walk beyond the threshold of their cell. In commemoration of Rumi’s birthday, this program will explore his words regarding spiritual freedom. The dramatic presentation will feature poetry, stories and sayings from Jalal al-Din Rumi and his master, Shams al-Tabriz, also incorporating Sufi chanting aimed at kindling remembrance of that freedom.
Preceded by Meditation & "Readings from the Masters" with Joan Suval beginning at 7:00PM (by donation).
