Healthy Hips: Mobility Workshop with Vimala Quinn
2:00–3:30 PM Eastern Time
Improving hip mobility can minimize low back and knee pain. Having better movement in the hips can help with everyday activities like walking, running, climbing stairs, getting in and out of your car and getting up from and down to the floor.
The session will start off with a gentle warm up sequence, exploring areas of the hips that may feel stiff and inflexible. Then, key stretches will be incorporated that target those areas and help to alleviate the tightness. All of the stretches you will learn can easily be continued at home on your own. All levels welcome!
Tammy (Vimala) Quinn began her practice of Yoga in 2008 and realized soon that Yoga was much more than physical exercise. Her passion for Yoga led her to take the 200 hour “Life of a Yogi” teacher training with Sri Dharma Mittra in 2011. Tammy began visiting Ananda Ashram in 2013 in an effort to continue her study of asana, Yoga-Vedanta philosophy and meditation. Her style of teaching is a classic approach, incorporating asana, pranayama (breathing techniques) and the basic principles of Yoga.
