Experience North Indian Classical Music on Sitar through an interactive demonstration. This workshop includes introduction to Indian scales, improvisation techniques, rhythmic motifs, raga (melodic forms), tala (rhythmic cycles), micro-tones, and the basic structure of a North Indian piece. An invaluable opportunity to understand one of the profound musical traditions of the world from the inside out. Attendees will participate in singing and rhythmic expression and learn more about the instrument and the music. There will be a Q & A session at the end.
