In honor of the anniversary of Jalaal ud-Diin Rumi’s death, this circle will feature one of his stories that explore the role of Divine Will versus individual (ego-based) will, particularly in situations of hardship and danger. Presented in a classic Rumi way, the program incorporates poetry, verses from the Qur’aan, Islamic sayings and Sufi chanting. These are utilized to elaborate on points in the story, showing how they may connect intimately with the listener’s own life.
