Jesse Kotansky

The son of dance teachers Stephen
and Susan Kotansky, violinist Jesse Kotansky grew up immersed
in Balkan music and dance. He received his first violin at the
age of 3. In addition to studying classical music in school,
he has studied and performed with master musicians Ara Dinkjian,
Beth Cohen, Raif Hyseni, Merita Halili, Goran Alacki and many
others. Jesse is also an accomplished oud player and composes
for film and theater productions. Presently, he leads the Brooklyn,
NY based band “Which Way East” which features a unique blend
of Eastern European, Middle Eastern and Western sounds. |
