Galina Heifetz

Galina Heifetz is a violinist who made her solo debut in her native Kiev at the age of eleven. A winner of the USSR National Violin Competition in Moscow, she performed widely in the former USSR and Eastern Europe and, more recently, in the U.S., England, Taiwan, India and China (Beijing). Her repertoire ranges from 18th century masters to contemporary composers such as Arnold Schoenberg. She has recorded several CDs for the Connoisseur Society label, including "Russian Music for Violin and Piano" and Sergei Prokofiev's "Sonatas for Violin and Piano" with Pianist Arnold Kaplan.
