Navaratri: Celebration of Devi, Cosmic Energy

Tue, Mar 28 to Wed, Apr 05

9:00AM Daily: Special Programs in the Temple

(By Donation)

Navarātri is considered an important time for physical, mental and spiritual purification and transformation. Cosmic energy is personified here as Devī or Durgā, Mother of the universe, vanquishing in battle all the demons or forces of darkness and ignorance.

Programs will include Sanskrit chanting of the Devī Māhātmyam for world peace and healing. Hymns from the Vedas and Tantras are also included.

This is also the auspicious beginning of the Indian lunar year (North Indian calendar).

The last day of Navarātri, Wednesday, April 5, is known as Rāma Navamī, Lord Rama's birthday.
